of the 2009 Doncaster St Ledger Yearling Sale offered by Jamie Railton have
already made a promising start to their careers, headed by impressive two-time
winner Wootton Bassett (pictured right) trained by Richard Fahey. The Gimcrack
or the valuable DBS Sales race are two possible targets for Wootton Bassett at
York´s Ebor meeting following comfortable victories at Ayr and Doncaster.
Secured by Robin O'Ryan for £46,000 at last year's DBS Sale, Wootton Bassett was
bred by Colin & Melba Bryce's Laundry Cottage Stud.......
The Mole Catcher(pictured left as a yearling) made a
winning debut at La Teste de Buch in France on Sunday, netting a breeze up bonus
of £5,000 on top of the first prize of more than €7,000 for his new connections,
having been prepared for the Doncaster Breeze Up Sale by Jamie Railton.
A handsome son of Whipper, The Mole Catcher is now likely to
be upped in class and will tackle Listed Company at his next outing. In
addition, the colt prepared by Nicolas de Watrigant remains eligible for another
Breeze Up Bonus.
Business As Usual Sold For Record July Price
The Paul Makin owned and Michael Jarvis trained Business As Usual (left)
shattered the record price at the Tattersalls July Sale when selling for 460,000
guineas. The good looking son of Invincible Spirit was broken and
pre-trained by Jamie Railton, and was initially entered in the 2009 Tattersalls
Craven Breeze up sale before being retained to join the Jarvis team.

Encouraging Trade at Arqana Summer Sale
The Jamie Railton Sales Agency offered two breeze
up colts at the Arqana Summer Sale at Saint Cloud for the first time and the
results were encouraging enough to suggest the sale would be a worthwhile avenue
for trading breeze up horses later in the season for years to come. A Yes It's
True colt out of Wild Planet (pictured right) fetched €22,000 to the bid of
Chris Richner Bloodstock, while Paul Nataf signed for a Nayef colt at €12,000.

Michael Jarvis Secures Hurricane Run Colt
An
attractive son of Hurricane Run is the newest addition to Michael Jarvis’
Kremlin House Stables. Sold by Jamie Railton at last week’s Guineas Breeze Up
Sale, the athletic colt fetched 50,000gns to the bid of Michael Jarvis
(right) after a prolonged bidding war with fellow Newmarket trainer William
Jarvis. Bred by Laundry Cottage Stud, the colt is the first foal of the Dansili
mare Water Feature, a half sister to Group 1 Grand Criterium winner Tenby.
Breeze Up Graduate Lands Macau Group 1
Six-year-old
gelding Viva Hong Kong (left) landed the HK$2.3
million Macau-Hong Kong Trophy (G1) at Taipa in late April for trainer Gary
Moore. The son of Lemon Drop Kid was originally prepared and sold as a
two-year-old by Jamie Railton, knocked down to Terry Mills for 115,000gns at the
2006 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale. Racing as Kid Mambo in the UK, Viva Hong

Oasis Dream Colt purchased by Tinkler
The Tattersalls Craven Breeze
Up Sale proved most selective with the first night in particular proving a real
battle for vendors. By Sale end, 96 of the 166 horses catalogued had changed
hands for an aggregate of 7,656,500gns. Eddie Stobart CEO Andrew Tinkler proved
one of the most prominent purchasers of the sale, signing for 2 lots from the
Jamie Railton draft including a colt by Oasis Dream for 82,000gns and a late
maturing Cape Cross colt for 30,000gns. Also sold was an Oasis Dream filly on
behalf of Haras du Saubouas for 60,000gns, knocked down to MAB Agency, while a
Danehill Dancer filly changed hands for 50,000gns.

The European Breeze Up season
started in a low key fashion with the Goffs Kempton Sale taking place on Friday
12th March. With just over 90 two-year-olds catalogued, 67 per cent
found new homes with the sale recording a moderate average of £15,991 and median
of £12,500, both down from 2009.

Group 3 winning filly Chantilly Tiffany caught the eye of many
leading buyers when fetching 320,000gns at Tattersalls December Sales. Consigned

Stud and raced for Ed Dunlop.
